|Reluceo|- An ability given to him by the Divine Praetors. Magnes is able to generate a beam of light that is able to refract off of reflectable surfaces. He is then able to use the beam to temporarily convert himself into light particles to transport himself across the distance. However, there are a few faults to the ability: it can only be used a few times daily, anymore and it will put grievous strain on Magnes’ body the more he uses it after and possibly lead to his death if overused. The beam of light can be disrupted, thus interrupting the distance that Magnes can cover. He can only transport himself. The distance is limited to fifty feet with much concentration needed. He cannot do anything physically while in transit since he has no physical form nor do any damage at all, it is more of a temporary transport.

☩Talents:
|Weapon Combat|- From his noble upbringing, Magnes has been taught to use an array of weapons in hopes of becoming a knight. But the most notable weapons of choice that he excels in is: dual swords, hand to hand and some archery.
|Natural Talent|- The Hawthorne line raised it’s nobles to become Knights and continued to preserve their natural ability for combat. Naturals are still rare, however, but even naturals, if not trained properly could be poor knights. Luckily, Magnes had the resources at his disposal to help exploit and advance his natural abilities.
|Combat Tactics|- Groomed at a young age to exercise both body and mind, Magnes developed into quite the tactician.
|Creature Knowledge|- Over time and from reading, Magnes has come to identify a few sentient and non sentient creatures from experience.

☩Magic:
|Light Barrier|- Magnes can create a barrier of light that can withstand moderate physical attacks and reach up to twelve feet in diameter.
|Lux Prisma|- Magnes is able to make a prism of light to act as a cage, allowing entry to anyone, but allowing not just anyone to leave. However, it takes time to erect Lux Prisma and a great quantity of quintessence. The Prisim cannot be ‘moved’ it is sedentary once placed and can only be removed by the user dispelling it. Lux Prisma can only last for up to thirty minutes. Lux Prisma also takes deep concentration to preform. Magnes uses this move very sparingly and for specific purposes.
|Lux Gleam|- Magnes is able to give a power boost to light attacks, effecting himself and those around him if they are able to cast light magic.
|Lux Fluctus Aureola|- Magnes radiates a single wave of light from himself that can reach ten feet in diameter to push back enemies. This attack can only bring physical damage to Wraithwalkers, Devils and Undead.
|Multis Luminaria|- Magnes is able to make ‘copies’ of himself by using light as an illusion, however, these ‘copies’ cannot physically harm anyone and they are imperfect, as if his figure is radiating light and fine details are indiscernible. It also becomes far more difficult when the number of copies exceed five.
|Ius Annullamus|- Right of Annulment; Magnes is able to cast out quintessence after charging the ability for a duration of time to cancel, or weaken depending on the power of the spell, out magics within the area, friendly fire is possible. Range is up to ten feet in diameter.
|Divine Lightning|- Magnes is able to gather quintessence in the palm of his hand as a bolt of lightning made of divine light that then acts as a spear for him to use for a single throw.

☩Enchantments:
✧ Mournstar: The Hawthorne Family blade. It’s original name was Morning Star back in the mid silver age. It was not until that the death of the first Hawthorne wielder that Morning Star’s name changed, for the sword seemed to ‘call’ out in the predawn hours; a sound that seemed sorrowful as if weeping for it’s master’s loss. The blade is rumored to make this call annually on the day it is said that it’s first master had perished. And thus it was name the Mourn Blade, later to have it’s two names combined to Mournstar.
Enchantments:
-|Chosen|- Mournstar is a blade meant for the Hawthorne family and nullifies it’s enchantments when not in the hands of Hawthorne line or deemed worthy of it, should someone not of the Hawthorn line of or not worthy try to wield Mournstar, it would begin to heat up and may even cause burns.
-|Luminous|- Mournstar is able to give more power to light magic attacks casted by the user.
-|Radiance|- Just as Mournstar has the properties to add to light attacks, it has it’s own as well. Mournstar is able to illuminate itself in degrees, from something of a regular light to see in a dark place, to a blinding light to stun enemies. Mournstar is also capable to send out a ‘lance’ of light in a thrust, the distance able to reach eight feet past the tip of the sword.

✧ Resolution: A blade once wielded by Lazarus Hawthorne; also known as “The Red Wall” near the end of the late bronze age. Rumor has it that Resolution became accustom to the blood of it’s slain foes and that it would ‘hum’ in contently when there is someone with strong malicious intent to the wielder. Resolution is an enchanted blade, claimed to be unbreakable and to detect what is deemed ‘evil’ by the user.

-|Detect Evil|- Resolution is able to detect nearby evil in a twenty foot radius, to which it ‘hums’ contently. However, despite Resolution being able to detect evil, it cannot pinpoint it’s source outright.

Magnes favors the sword but also favors intellect more than a blade. He is just in most actions that he partakes in especially from his standing, knowing he is representing the Radiant Knights and stands as someone people look to. He offers guidance and is kind, but he does not fear to bring a hard edge in matters if he deems it so. He is strict, wanting things to flow smoothly but more out of the safety and peace for others. Some may deem him intimidating from his stature, but deep within he is kind, often holding his true thoughts and emotions at bay, to his own privacy. Who knows what happens behind closed doors where none shall see him...


☩History:

The Hawthornes have been a noble family within the Radiant Empire since the middle of the Silver age and are one of the first few noble houses. The family was founded by Gallus Hadrien Hawthorne, whom established a fief in Val-Arbor where generations of Hawthornes have been raised. The family was later made famous by his descendant, Lazarus Dakar Hawthorne a man who drove to protect the innocent by hunting vampires, having the race loath the Hawthornes throughout time.

Overall the family has dedicated it’s service to the Radiant Knights throughout time. But despite their affinity for more militaristic actions, they have also been respected as kind and compassionate individuals, albeit, with strict social standards. The leader of the house has and had been for generations, loyal and dedicated.

Son to Gaius and Bethany Hawthorne, Magnes was a chance miracle that his mother believed to be unable to bear children at all, left to watch her own siblings having families with many. However, this did not make her resentful, she was a kind hearted individual. His father was a hard working man, Marshal to the Radiant Knights and supportive of his wife in all of her endeavors. They expected the same, if not similar qualities in their son.

Magnes was raised into the older standings, mixed a little with the new. Growing up on the Hawthorne Estate within the Radiant Empire. He was raised strictly, but also nurtured to become both gentleman and a capable fighter. His parents also invested into Magnes’ studies seeing that the pen can be sharper than the sword. Magnes’ father coveted tactics rather than brute force when it came to most things, military or even in his normal everyday life. Magnes adopted his father’s belief and took leisure in his studies rather than viewing it as an obstacle or boorish. He also adopted his mother’s affection to help people even if they do not wish it, often helping the servants on their errands. Often when he was running errands he would look forward to whenever any of the Radiant Knights passed through town, idealistic in glorifying their image since he was keen to become one himself one day.

Whenever his father had his duties as a knight to attend to, Magnes eagerly awaited his arrival home until one day his father had not returned, instead, another man clad in armor and astride a horse had come to give his mother the ill news of his father’s death.

Bereft and left in denial, Magnes oftentimes found himself looking from one of the windows of his home, still waiting to see the familiar sight of his father despite knowing the day shall never come ever again even after the man’s funeral.

That is when Magnes began looking more outside of his home, often leaving the estate to visit the markets, forests and meadows, anyplace that can keep him distracted. It was in this time that Magnes learned of a few things that his family could not teach him, it was also during this time when he befriended an orphaned thief named Gale Cutteridge and stumbled upon the young Lady Casaca, Lily. The three of them were good friends, often spending time with each other, not minding social class.

But soon their bonds were put into some tension when Magnes joined the Radiant Knights, following in his father’s footsteps since he was to carry on the family name and title.

_{Radiant Knights History: (His Radiant Knight history is well known)}
He began as any fresh recruit would at the rank of squire, further learning how to fight and tactics. He excelled, resolved to his training and studied, quickly going up the ranks until he was a Marshall and experienced in a few battles himself. Seated in the position his father once was, he felt the growing responsibility loomed overhead; but he was up for the task. Having a bright mind and excelling in combat, Magnes was a youth both respected amongst the people, even his own peers and enemies.

When Magnes was given leave and able to return home, he spent his time with Gale and Lily. Gale had become more reputable and Lily was following in her mother’s footsteps. After some years, Magnes went through the proper procedures to ask for Lily’s hand in marriage, which was gladly accepted by the Casca family. But it wasn’t to last when later in the year Lily fell ill the doctors, unable to find the reason to her illness nor a cure. Eventually she passed away, leaving Magnes bereft once more. When his leave was over, he hid his loss, knowing that he could not stay in that frame of mind for the sake of others. Some time later Magnes became a Seneschal, surpassing even that of his father.

It was at this point in time that he was approached by Martin Marienkafer, Commander of the Radiant Knights at the time. Magnes always knew that he was being watched, but it was under the thought that everyone was as well and it wasn’t until Martin that he found he was watched more closely than a few others. Martin saw that it had become his time to retire and elect a new Commander, Magnes. It had thrown him off a little at first, but he calmly accepted it, hoping that he would be right for the responsibility.

✧At the age of eight, his father died whom he had greatly respected and revered as a true hero. He also met Gale Cutteridge who helped him to broaden his view.
✧At the age of nine he met Lily Casca.
✧At the age of fourteen he joined the Radiant Knights, following the footsteps of his father and his calling.
✧At eighteen he obtained the rank of Marshal within the Radiant Knights.
✧At the age of twenty he proposed to Lily, later in the year she caught ill which resulted in her passing.
✧At the age of twenty-three he became the new Commander of the Radiant Knights.
